Fraternity Emblem

Here is a picture of the emblem recently adopted by the Fraternity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is a typical Franciscan emblem, but this particular design was done by a relative of one of our sisters down in New Zealand. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Fraternity sends this person our sincerest gratitude.

The hand on the right side (with the arm clothed in the habit) represents the stigmata of St. Francis. The other hand contains the wound inflicted on Our Lord. Both hands are crossed over a crucifix with the famous words of St. Francis on top:

"DEUS MEUS ET OMNIA", which is Latin for "MY GOD AND MY ALL".

Yes. St. Francis wanted nothing but God. Everything and anything else was a distraction. We too, as tertiaries, strive to desire the same.

In the Seraphic Father.
