Franciscan Literature

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Penance,

As children of St. Francis, I urge each and every one of you to always have Franciscan literature on hand as part of your spiritual reading. I know many of you are regularly reading Catholic literature on various subjects. This is indeed very good. However, we have chosen a vocation that requires us to particularly live out the Franciscan spirit. Therefore, to keep up this spirit, please challenge yourselves to spend at least 3 days a week reading on some Franciscan subject matter. It can be on the life of the Seraphic Father, a Franciscan saint, a Third Order saint, a papal encyclical, a book on Franciscan theology, etc. You don't have to spend a lot of time each session. It can be as little as a one or two pages each time. For your convenience, we have provided links to Franciscan literature on this site.

In the Seraphic Father.
